B.L.T.

B.L.T.

For my B.L.T sandwich I started by placing a stainless steel pan on the stove at medium heat. Once the pan got hot I added six strips of bacon. The bacon cooked for about 12 minutes and it was flipped every 3 minutes. Next, while the bacon was cooking I peeled, washed and dried 4 pieces of red leaf lettuce and put it off to the side. Afterwards, I cut one medium sized tomato into six slices and placed two pieces of white sourdough bread in the toaster. The bacon was taken off of the stove and placed on a paper towel to help absorb some of the grease. Next, the bread came out of the toaster and was lined with a thin layer of mayonnaise on either side of the bread. The sliced tomato and red leaf lettuce were placed on the bread. Finally, the bacon was added and the sandwich was complete.

Ingredients:

– Bacon

– White sourdough bread

– Red leaf lettuce

– Medium sized tomato

– Mayonnaise

If I am being honest this was the second time I made a B.L.T this week, they are really good! As a kid my parents would make this for lunch or dinner every once in a while and I remember always getting excited for that meal. This recipe is quick and easy to make and there is very little cleaning up, which is nice. On Saturday night I had just finished doing my homework and I was a little more hungry than usual, so I made 2 sandwiches rather than 1. The first sandwich tasted great, but by the end of the second sandwich I began to get a little tired of the greasy taste of bacon. Next time when I make a B.L.T I will most likely only make 1 sandwich, so that I make sure to enjoy the entirety it. Although I really like sourdough bread, next time I will use whole wheat bread, because it is more filling and a healthier option. I forgot to get a picture of the B.L.T; therefore, this photo was taken from Unsplash.

How dare you not take a picture of the end result. I read through that entire article only to not have a final product to judge… tut, tut…
Just kidding, I am sure your BLT looked just as good as the Unsplash picture Isaac. And I enjoyed the article, being a big BLT/sandwich person myself, I am always looking for ways to spice up my go-to recipes. Don’t get me wrong though, I am still disappointed about the lack of photo evidence…
